New York City FC’s first season in MLS is shaping up to be everything fans could’ve wanted and more. According to Mirror reporter Aaron Flanagan, former Barcelona and Spanish international center back Carles Puyol is poised for a return to football.

In May 2014, Puyol opted to retire early, terminating the final two years of his contract with Barcelona. Now, he is strongly being linked to both NYCFC and Qatar, but a short-term stint with the Light Blues could very well be in the works.
